CONNECTING WHAT MATTERS

NCATE/PSC

On behalf of the John H. Lounsbury College of Education and all of our university and professional community partners, it is my privilege to welcome you to this site. The content found here and linked to additional resources documents our deep reflection upon and understanding of how we have designed, developed, and deliver initial and advanced educator preparation programs to graduate “architects of change” who are instructional leaders in the classroom, the school, the community, and the profession.

Our Mentored, Field-Based model is recognized on this campus as one of six Academic Programs of Distinction. The continuing success of this model and all programming in the College of Education is based upon the value vested in collaboration and collegiality. These values sustain strong, positive relationships within the college, with our campus colleagues, with those who host teacher and leader interns, and with those who engage program advisory roles. These connections are the foundation that ground the professional development experiences of the students we serve.

We are committed to continuous improvement of our programming and appreciate the assistance of NCATE-CAEP and Georgia Professional Standards Commission visiting team members who will contribute so much to this process.

Thank you and Welcome!

Jane Hinson, Dean
